Keno Strategies That Make Money

It won’t ordinarily be thought of as the sexiest game in the arena of betting, but keno has loads of dedicated supporters. Why wouldn’t it? It’s a constantly exciting lottery-type game that’s easy to learn, readily available in a number of different variations, and one that will pay out mega-dollars for those who learn its numerous subtle nuances. But let’s start with the basics for now.

When describing keno to newcomers, some gambling masters compare it to bingo. This is at least in some ways apt, in that each game is basically numerical. Yet to take that comparison too far will be to misunderstand the endless unique traits that make keno so exciting. Not like bingo, keno users have the power to choose the numbers for every card.

Keno cards have a total of eighty numbers, but the user is given an additional level of personal responsibility by being able to choose as many (or as few) numbers as he or she thinks is appropriate. And it doesn’t take a doctor of keno to determine how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all your selected numbers with a ordinary#2 pencil like you had when you were a kid.

Now that you have selected your numbers, carry the game card back to the person at the keno booth. The clerk will record your numbers and then give you a receipt. Make sure no to misplace this (potentially) expensive bit of paper! Even if the clerk remembers you and wants help out, without a winning receipt with you, you will be given exactly $.00 for your actions.

So, there you have strategy number one: always be sure to keep your keno ticket. Let’s go on to something a little bit more useful, yes?

After you’ve marked your numbers, get into a nice keno booth and watch the action unfold on the video monitor. This is where the winning numbers are shown for all to see. If you marked winners, mark your card appropriately. Be sure not to dally, or sit there praising yourself for too great a length of time. You really want to get up to the keno booth to collect your winnings, and then a new round of keno will certainly start up within a few minutes.

Strategy #2: always make it back to the keno stand on time!

Assuming you do not trust yourself to meet that 5 minute deadline each time, you always retain the option of buying a "multi-race" ticket. These include the self same set of your selected numbers on anywhere from 2 to twenty slips. When the maximum number of games (matching the amount of tickets) is played, you can then get off your lazy back side and go collect your winnings.

Yet an additional option is known as a "stray and play" keno slip, which usually lets you make number selection for 30 games or more. Hell, you can take all the time in the world and not have to fret about getting back in time to redeem your winnings. Most "stray and play" game cards are good for up to a whole year after it’s purchased!

And now you are aware of a number of indispensable techniques for winning keno. If you are an accomplished user, they might seem to be incredibly obvious. But it will never hurt to brush up on the basic strategies, and if you are a beginner keno player, every bit of advice will help make your keno experience more captivating.
